The environment in a chemical manufacturing facility is very aggressive towards concrete and quickly erodes the surfaces down to large aggregate unless preventative measures are taken to protect the concrete.

Mobile Enterprises, working with Chevron Chemical Company engineers has, over the years, protected and preserved several areas of the Orange facility utilizing Semstone products.

In most cases, an aggregate filled system was placed on all traffic areas with neat material applied to all vertical surfaces. Semstone 805, a flexible, chemical resistant material was applied in reinforced strips at all plane changes, cracks and at joints according to Sentry Polymers’ specifications. In the truck area, an aggregate filled, fiberglass reinforced system was installed to handle the heavy 18 wheeler traffic.

Mobile’s work and Sentry products have withstood the test of time and are performing well.
