Delta Downs Racetrack and Casino

When forms were stripped from the 30’ wide by 24’ long by 12” thick shear wall at the new 206 room hotel addition to Delta Downs Racetrack and Casino, large areas of honeycombing were exposed along with areas of insufficient cover on the reinforcing steel.

Mobile Enterprises, Inc., working with Lochsa Engineering and YWS Architects, designed a structural repair consisting of: Removal of all unsound concrete and restoring with Sika 123+ or Sika Monotop 611. Installing SikaTop Seal 107 at 80 mils to equal 6” of concrete cover, installing a “U” wrap of SikaWrap Hex 103 C around the ends of the shear wall and installing Hex 3-R Fire Lam 505 and 506 to provide a 4 hour fire rating.

All work was monitored by Fugro Engineering and approved with no exceptions.
