Great Lakes Carbon Corp.

After observing cracking in four coke storage silos, the owner engaged a structural engineer to make a study and provide repair details.

Scaffolding was erected inside and outside the 110’ Silo #1. All cracks were flushed out with water and sealed and ported inside and outside. Epoxy injection was started at the lowest point and, as the material moved upward or along the crack network, Mobile crews followed from port to port to assure complete filling of the crack network.

Owners and Engineers were pleased with the “SCB Process” and Mobile Crews.
