Galleria Mall North Parking Garage

This 200,000 sq. ft. plus post tension double tee parking garage has been restored by Mobile Enterprises in five phases beginning in 1988.

The garage had a number of problems including, but not limited to, cracking and spalling of the concrete topping and failed expansion joints. Water was penetrating through these areas and corroding the structural steel.

Mobile Enterprises has successfully stopped water penetration. Spalled concrete areas were removed and patched. Cracks were chased and sealed, then detailed with fiberglass mesh and neoprene rubber. Cracks discovered in structural members were pressure injected with epoxy. Failed expansion joints were replaced, and finally the surface was shotblasted and Kelmar waterproof deck coating was installed. Galleria Mall’s North Parking Garage should now be capable of many more years of service.
