Completed: January, 2000

Construction of the new “Specialty Polymers Plant at the Beaumont facilities of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company proceeded in an orderly fashion with many different contractors working together to assure an “on schedule” opening of this state of the art facility. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has been far sighted in installing chemical resistant linings and coatings to those areas subject to chemical attack and degradation of concrete surfaces.

Mobile Enterprises, Inc. was selected to install an aggregate filled, glass fiber reinforced, chemical resistant lining in sumps and containment areas where acids would attack and degrade the concrete.

Areas were abrasive blasted, bugholes filled, primed and a 50 mil, aggregate filled base coat was laid down. A fiberglass mat was embedded into the base coat, and a 30 mil top coat of neat material was then roller applied to provide the protection needed.
