LPV-145 Chalmette Levee Flood Wall

Part of a $15 billion effort to upgrade flood protection in New Orleans and Jefferson, St. Bernard and St. Charles Parishes, Chalmette Levee Constructors, in a joint venture with Kiewit Construction, selected Mobile Enterprises, Inc. to caulk the concrete expansion joints between (608) monoliths in a 6.5-mile long flood wall project for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers located on the west side of Lake Borgne in St. Bernard Parish, east of New Orleans, Louisiana, using Tremco’s 240FC Class 50 polyurethane joint sealant.

The Corps expects this project to withstand the surge from a so-called hundred-year storm, which has a 1 percent chance of striking the area in a given year.
