Rain Forest River Ride Project

One of Galveston Island’s favorite tourist attraction is the “River Ride” at the “Rainforest Restaurant” which also features a four story water fall.

Visitors to the River Ride are treated to a 10 minute tour through the darkest jungles of Africa with a new thrill at every turn. During holiday seasons, the river is changed from a jungle to a “torture chamber” for Halloween and “Christmas Lane” at Christmas.

During construction, the pump room basement wall was cast in place and pre-cast panels were set on top and a 1” grout bed placed between the two different materials. The joint developed a serious leak and Mobile was called in by the owner to stop the leak. Mobile crews performed urethane injection and the leak was completely sealed off in one day without shutting down operations.
